The Court of Insult
Created for the Monarchy of Atlantis and the Commonwealth
During the last 800 years, the monarchy system included honour duels to be used when a person's honour was harmed. In 2024, Queen Ann Sovereign Monarch created the Court of Insult to deal with issues related to insult, slander, and harm to the honour of an individual or family.
Dueling to the death with pistols or swords as of January 8, 2025, is declared illegal and all subjects who have been slandered, had their honour harmed or have been insulted, may address their grievances through the Court of Insult within the proper jurisdiction.
Process
The person harmed shall approach the Court of Insult with a petition explaining the incident. The person who has allegedly harmed your personal honour or family honour, will be served notice of the case in person by the Court of Insult. Each person involved will be provided with a lawyer to represent their interests in court. A representative of the crown will be in attendance as witness at all hearings.
This court system is a civil law court system using civil or common law and the final judgements from this court may include a monetary fines but no jail terms. If parties duel with weapons, it is considered a criminal matter and will be addressed in the criminal court systems of the commonwealth by the jurisdictional Home Office.
